The grape variety

This for no-native speakers nearly unpronounceable grape is an old one, which was already known in the Middle Ages. It is highly sensitive and therefore needs the very best and warm locations.

The rose-orange coloured berries of the Gewuerztraminer are very spicy, yielding extremely low quantity and high quality ripeness. Gewuerztraminer white wines are rarities!

From our Gewuerztraminer grapes we bottle two different wines, a very dry Auslese and a sweet Spaetlese.
 

Gewuerztraminer Auslese white wine – dry

Taste

This wine of Auslese quality has an intense golden colour, an exquisite taste of fruits, and a wonderful flavour of roses. Its acidity is pleasantly low, the aroma full and rich.

Gewuerztraminer dry + food

This wine is an exclusive companion to spicy food, furthermore it goes especially well with roast goose or duck.

 

Gewuerztraminer Spaetlese white wine – sweet

Taste

This sweet Spaetlese wine is beautifully golden coloured. The taste has an exquisite aroma of fruits and the Gewuerztraminer-typical flavour of roses. Low, pleasant acidity and rich, ripe sweetness.

Gewuerztraminer Spaetlese + food

This white wine tastes pleasant as an aperitif and is a scrumptious accompanist to sweet desserts or spicy cheeses.
