Rosé Wine · Histamine-Certified

In this category you will find rosé wines for which a specific, concrete histamine analysis made by a recognised wine laboratory.

Why “Histamine-Certified” Instead of “Histamine-Free” Rosé Wine?

For wine as an alcoholic beverage, the term “histamine-free” may not be used for legal reasons. The declaration of a specific histamine value on wine labels is also not permitted – even if a laboratory analysis is available.

You will find the respective analysis values transparently listed with each white wine. Further information on our histamine-certified wines is available here.

Histamine in Rosé Wine – Yes or No?

Many foods and beverages naturally contain histamines. Wine can also contain histamine, as it may develop during fermentation and ageing.

Already in the vineyard and during the production of our rosé wines, we pay close attention to particularly gentle processing. Nevertheless, individual wines may still develop histamine. These wines remain unchanged and are not offered as histamine-certified rosé wines.

Selection and Flavour Profile of Histamine-Certified Rosé Wines

In this category you will find all rosé wines from our winery for which a concrete histamine analysis is available. Depending on grape variety, vintage, and bottling, the selection of histamine-certified rosé wines may vary.

Whether a rosé wine is produced dry or sweet has no influence on its histamine content.

Details on sweetness, aromatics, and winemaking can be found in the individual wine descriptions.

Flavour Styles of Histamine-Certified Rosé Wines

  • Dry: no or hardly any perceptible sweetness
  • Off-dry: very subtle sweetness
  • Semi-sweet: gentle, pleasant sweetness, residual sugar up to max. 45 g/l
  • Sweet: clearly perceptible sweetness

Grape Varieties for Histamine-Certified Rosé Wines

Based on our experience, whether a rosé wine develops histamine or not does not depend on the grape variety.

Enjoying Histamine-Certified Rosé Wines

Rosé wines – whether dry or sweet – are considered the quintessential summer and terrace wines. Served well chilled, they show their best side.

Dry Histamine-Certified Rosé Wines

Dry rosés are particularly versatile food companions. They pair well with meat and poultry dishes, fish and seafood, pasta and vegetarian cuisine, Asian dishes, and also with cold meals.

Semi-Sweet and Sweet Histamine-Certified Rosé Wines

These rosés appeal to those who prefer wines that are not completely dry. They are true enjoyment wines for sociable evenings or whenever you wish to treat yourself. Sweet rosé wines also pair well with food: try them with aromatic or sweet-and-sour dishes.

Quality and Transparency

All histamine-certified rosé wines are analysed separately with each bottling. The respective analysis values can be found together with the download link for each individual wine.

The designation “histamine-certified” stands for transparent, concrete analytical data from our wine laboratory.

In addition, the histamine-certified rosé wines undergo the official quality wine examination by the Chamber of Agriculture and may only bear the designation “German Quality Wine” after successfully passing this test.

Histamine-Certified Tasting Sets

In addition to the individual wines, we have put together three tasting sets, each containing 6 different wines:

  • Dry histamine-certified wines
  • Off-dry histamine-certified wines
  • Sweet histamine-certified wines

The tasting sets are shipped free of charge within Germany.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about Histamine-Certified Rosé Wines

Which rosé wine has the lowest histamine level?

All rosé wines in this category are below 0.1 mg/l or lower. For wines showing an analysis result of < 0.01 mg/l, the histamine level is below the laboratory’s detection limit. The exact value is listed for each wine.

Are certain grape varieties used for rosé naturally lower in histamine?

Rosé wine is made from red grape varieties. Histamine content is not a fixed characteristic of a specific grape but may vary depending on vintage, winemaking and bottling.

Is the stated histamine value vintage-specific?

Yes. The declared histamine level always refers to the specific bottling offered. Each bottling is analysed separately for its histamine content.

Why do histamine levels differ between individual rosé wines?

Histamine content is an analytical measurement and may vary depending on grape variety, vintage and winemaking. Therefore, the values are listed individually for each product rather than applied uniformly to all rosé wines.

Do histamine-certified rosé wines taste different?

No. Taste, freshness and style correspond to the respective grape variety and winemaking approach. The histamine testing concerns the analysis only – not the production process or the character of the wine.

Are histamine-certified rosé wines specially treated?

No. Histamine-certified rosé wines are produced in the usual way. Nothing is removed or technically altered afterwards. The only difference is that the histamine level is analytically measured and transparently stated.

Are there alcohol-free histamine-certified rosé wines?

Yes. We also offer an alcohol-free histamine-certified rosé wine: Fuchs Rosé «Zero».

Who performs the histamine analyses?

The analyses are carried out by a recognised wine laboratory. The measured value is displayed on the product page, and the full analysis is available for download.
