White wines are true all-rounders: enjoyed with food, as a terrace wine, as a spritzer, as an apéritif, as a nightcap, or simply on their own for pure enjoyment.
What Do White Wines Taste Like?
In terms of flavour, white wines are characterised by their fruitiness and, in the case of certain grape varieties, by an especially expressive bouquet.
When it comes to sweetness, the choice is entirely yours. As tastes vary, you will find white wines with us ranging from bone-dry to noble sweetness:
- Dry: no or hardly perceptible sweetness
- Off-dry: very subtle sweetness
- Semi-sweet: light, pleasant sweetness, residual sugar content up to a maximum of 45 g/l
- Sweet: clearly perceptible sweetness, residual sugar content more than 45 g/l
- Noble sweetness: very pronounced sweetness from highly ripe grapes in dessert wines

Dry and Off-Dry White Wines
Dry white wines are classic food companions. With very little or no sweetness, they go particularly well with a wide range of dishes: enjoy white wine with meat and poultry, fish and seafood, pasta and vegetarian cuisine, Asian dishes, as well as with cheese, ham, or a cold supper.
Semi-Sweet and Sweet White Wines
If you prefer wines that are not too dry, semi-sweet and sweet white wines are the right choice for you, as these wines show a clearly perceptible sweetness.
Semi-sweet and sweet whites are true wines made for enjoyment – whether as party wines in a cheerful setting or simply on their own when you feel like treating yourself. They also go well with food, especially with aromatic or sweet-and-sour dishes.
White Wines of Noble Sweetness
White wines of noble sweetness are also known as dessert wines. They represent the top qualities of a vintage, which as winemakers we cannot harvest every year, and are produced from very ripe grapes. Their flavour is very intense, offering expressive sweetness and aromatics. These white wines pair wonderfully with desserts and sweet dishes, but also with savoury pâtés and strong cheeses. In addition, the wines are an elegant choice as an exceptional apéritif.

Histamine-Certified White Wines
As a special service for wine lovers who suffer from histamine intolerance, you can choose from white wines with specific histamine analyses. If you experience problems with histamines, these analysis values can help you decide whether a wine is suitable for you.
Serving Temperature for White Wines
In general, we recommend enjoying white wines well chilled. Ultimately, the ideal serving temperature depends on your personal preference.
Which White Grape Varieties Are There?
Our range of grape varieties is extensive: from delicately fruity styles to fruity or spicy bouquet varieties, you will find a wide selection at Weingut Fuchs.
Classic and Rare White Grape Varieties
Across all white wine categories, you will find a wide range of grape varieties. Alongside classic grapes such as Riesling or the Burgundy varieties, our white wine range includes several rarely cultivated varieties such as Gewuerztraminer or Moscato Giallo, offering welcome variety and distinctive tasting experiences.
The aromatics of our white wines range from delicately fruity with subtle floral notes to powerfully fruity or spicy bouquet styles.
Fruity White Grape Varieties
These white wines are predominantly produced in a dry or feinherb style.

- Chardonnay, a delicately fruity member of the historic Burgundy family,
- Pinot Gris, an old variety with distinctive character,
- Green Silvaner, a grape variety with a long tradition producing delicately fruity wines,
- Riesling, a racy, fruity white wine from Germany’s best-known grape variety,

- Pinot Blanc, a classically delicately fruity white wine.
Aromatic White Bouquet Grape Varieties
These white wines are predominantly produced in a semi-sweet or sweet style. Owing to their intense flavours, sweetness suits these wines particularly well.

- Moscato Giallo, a very special rarity with expressive, spicy Muscat notes.
