For toasting, as a “circulatory pick-me-up”, as an apéritif or simply for the pure enjoyment when you feel like treating yourself – sparkling wine is always something special!
Enjoy sparkling wine well chilled! A fine flute or an elegant coupe enhances the enjoyment – that is when toasting truly becomes a pleasure!
With our sparkling wines, you can taste that they are made from carefully selected, high-quality wines. Fuchs sparkling wines are characterised by varietal fruit and bouquet as well as elegant, fine and lively bubbles, making them premium sparkling wines.
Here you will find various classic varietal sparkling wines, histamine-certified sparkling wine and non-alcoholic Versecco.
What is Sparkling Wine – From Wine to Sparkling Wine
Sparkling wine is created through a second fermentation of wine. During this process, fine carbon dioxide develops, which dissolves in the wine under pressure and is released with a characteristic pop when the bottle is opened.
Sweetness Levels from Very Dry to Semi-Sweet
The legal designations for sparkling wine differ from those used for still wine. In simplified terms, one can say:
| Sparkling Wine | Comparable Wine Style |
|---|---|
| brut, extra dry | dry |
| dry | semi-dry, off-dry |
| semi-dry | semi-sweet, sweet |

Grape Varieties Used for Sparkling Wine
The choice of grape varieties for our sparkling wines is rather unusual.
For a very dry brut sparkling wine, we prefer a delicate, fine-fruited grape with a subtle character. This is why we chose Pinot Blanc.
“Dry” sparkling wine retains a touch of residual sweetness, which harmonises beautifully with the aromatic character of Scheurebe.
For semi-dry sparkling wine, we chose Bacchus, a rather rare white grape variety with an intense, fruity and spicy aroma. Sweetness and fruit combine to create a full-bodied and harmonious taste experience.

The sparkling wine selection from Weingut Fuchs is small but refined. Three different sparkling wines – brut, dry and semi-dry – offer lovers of sparkling enjoyment a range of sweetness levels to suit different tastes.
Sparkling Specialities

Histamine-Certified Sparkling Wine
For those affected by histamine intolerance, we have had our sparkling wines analysed specifically for their histamine content. Based on these values, you can make an informed choice.
You will find the exact analysis values for each histamine-certified sparkling wine.
Non-Alcoholic Versecco – Sparkling
Versecco is our non-alcoholic alternative to sparkling wine – a delicious option for anyone who wishes or needs to avoid alcohol.
Fuchs “Versecco” differs significantly from typical non-alcoholic sparkling products. Instead of being produced from de-alcoholised wine, Versecco is made from fresh grape juices.
Versecco has a fine, long-lasting mousse similar to sparkling wine and offers a particularly fruity taste. It is bottled without the addition of sugar or flavourings in accordance with food regulations.

Enjoying Sparkling Wine
Sparkling wine calls for the right glass – an elegant flute or a refined tulip-shaped glass not only enhances the visual appeal. Typical sparkling wine glasses also feature a tiny rough point at the base, allowing the bubbles to rise in a particularly fine and lively stream.
The visually elegant coupe glasses have become somewhat less common. As their surface is completely smooth they do not allow the sparkling wine to retain its fine, lively bubbles in the same way.
Serving Temperature for Sparkling Wine
Sparkling wine tastes best when well chilled. If time is short, you can place the bottle in the freezer for an hour or two – just make sure not to forget it, as the bottle may burst. A cooling sleeve is also very effective.
Opened bottles should be kept in a cooler so that the temperature does not rise too quickly.
For storing opened bottles, special sparkling wine stoppers are available, secured with a clip or similar fastening. A simple stopper without fixation is not suitable, as it will be pushed out by the pressure.
